The folks over at Balmain have turned this season into a family affair – by casting three sets of sisters in their latest campaign.
And boy, did they choose well – the chosen ones were the Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid, as well as Erika and Joan Smalls.
According to Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing the purpose of this dynamic casting is to show women who are representative of ”the fresh, diverse and open spirit of a new generation of fashion. Furthermore, he aimed to celebrate the “unique and unconditional love of siblings”.
Watching them work together also made clear to me the universality of an age-old truth: the truly powerful strength, support, and love that family members can provide to one another.”
The collection itself features dark and moody hues contrasted with navy blue, brown and burnt orange , synonymous with an autumn/winter palette. Additionally the pieces feature the signature Balmain rich gold , as well as textured fabrics and subtle pops of primary and secondary colours.
It’s safe to say, I’m in love with the concept (wonder why) and it’s really refreshing to see models of colour included in this beautiful campaign.
Have a lovely weekend
