Simon’s Town; home to the South African Navy, just under seven thousand people, and a colony of Cape Penguins too. Last week, we visited both Simon’s Town and Kalk Bay, and we were both reminded, and pleasantly surprised at what these two little towns had to offer.
Perhaps the greatest culinary gem of Simon’s Town is a cafe, deli and decor store by the name of The Meeting Place. Downstairs, it’s a decor store and cafe – with books, homeware, art and even some clothing items.
The restaurant component is aptly named The Meeting Place Upstairs, and offers unspoiled views of the Simon’s Town harbour as well as a superb menu, in a beautiful setting.
After brunch we went for a walk to the harbour and then the rest of the town, admiring the amazing scenery and architecture.
We can’t wait to go back and seek out more of Simon’s Town’s hidden treasures, we missed out on Boulder’s Beach in order to be in Kalk Bay in time to sip on “The best Mojito’s in Cape Town” at Cape to Cuba – read all
about our Kalk Bay adventures in our next Candidly Cape Town post!
Enjoy the weekend!
