Decorex, South Africa’s premier decor, design and lifestyle exhibition, once again proved why it is an event highlighted in the calendars of all the most influential people in the South African design world. The show provides a comprehensive look into the current trends in the design world and is a bridge between designers and consumers.
As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed this year’s show, and snapped some pictures of the exhibitors that truly stood out to me.
Xavier Clarisse Design
French artist and designer, Xavier Clarisse, exhibited his amazing light fittings at this year’s show. His work is inspired by nature and his surroundings and his use of unique materials makes for an inspired collection.
mrp home aims to bring the latest trends in design to the consumer in an affordable and stylish manner. Their stand encompassed two major current trends in interior design: the botanical trend and mixed metals.
S Pelser Art
I fell in love with these pieces at first sight! Hauntingly beautiful, they convey the talent of the artist perfectly.
A Collaboration between Ernst H interiors and Christina Wiese interiors
I’ve always said, “team work makes the dream work” and when two talented creatives come together to curate a space like this – it’s easy to see why. A classic, stylish yet comfortable space, curated with an array of colours and textures- while not deviating too far from a subtle palette – stunning.
Not only are the team at Plantation shutters some of the most delightful people you’ll encounter, they also create a beautiful and homely space in which to display their beautiful shutters, to give consumers a better idea of how the products will look in their homes.
Coricraft & Dylan Thomaz
Heavyweights in the furniture industry, Coricraft, teamed up with designer Dylan Thomaz to create distinctive home spaces that allow the individual pieces to shine.
Design Team Fabrics
This collection of fabrics ranges from colourful and fun to more neutral and in keeping with more classically styled homes. All fabrics are hand printed, adding a customized touch to every piece they cover and encase.
Marble is everywhere these days and this bespoke collection is something of every instagram-fashionista’s flat lay dreams. The space was beautifully created to emulate a luxurious home environment while highlighting the beautiful marble.
All in all, the show was a deeply inspiring and enlightening experience. I’m always in awe of the amazing talent that South African designers possess, and I can’t wait to see what everyone gets up to over the next year at Decorex 2018
