Feastival is described as an “Inner city gathering of food, music and design culture” and is hosted on certain dates in the year at beautiful locations in Cape Town. The summer location is the Grand Beach Cafe, and the winter location: The Palms lifestyle and Decor center in Woodstock
We arrived pretty early and headed straight to the art and design area – where we spent most of our time, checking out some amazing brands, concepts and collectives. Here are the few that we truly connected with.
The Talisman Collective
A beautiful selection of crystals in unique settings as well as a variety of different semi-precious stones – so gorgeous! Check them out on Facebook.
Knobs and Tassels
With two stores in Cape Town – Woodstock and Gardens, Danielle, Blake and their team represent a myriad of artists and designers in a creative space that oozes authenticity and leaves one feeling inspired! Check out their website here.
We just loved their cute setup at Feastival – bunting and all! Decor aside, they stock handmade chokers that are reasonably priced – with a large variety. There is more information on their Facebook page.
Their website describes the project as: a platform for emerging artisans to market their creative products directly to the consumer. We love the notion, and the lady behind their marketing , Kez, sold the concept to us 100%. We’ll be popping in there sooner than later to shoot a detailed post about the project and the entrepreneurs behind the brands – until then you can visit their website here.
After all the chats and facts in the art and design area we were on the hunt for some dinner ! A little pit stop at the wine bar upstairs gave us a bird’s eye view of the feast.
We decided on the stall run by Spasie, Cape Town’s uber trendy underground restaurant on Church Street. We had the mini hummus pita served with carrots, roasted zucchini and walnuts – yum!
After dessert and some dancing we were all feasted-out! And ready to move on to the next Saturday night adventure. For two girls that love to be surrounded by inspiration, we were especially impressed with the amazing creatives they got on board to create a multi-dimensional experience that went beyond just food (although the food was pretty amazing too).
Thanks Feastival for once again organising a top-notch event! We can’t wait for the next one!
