Festival Beauty Trends

September 29, 2015

After a long and freezing cold winter (in Cape Town, at least) the weather is finally warming up which means: Festival Season is upon us! Along with the fashion trends that Donna will discuss in a future post – there are a host of beauty trends that come with attending festivals. Because festivals are a time of self expression and absolute freedom, general “rules” are thrown out of the window – especially in terms of makeup. Here are some trends I’ve been loving:

Face Gems & Bindi’s

The festival staple. Don’t be scared to creative with placement.

If you’re not looking for a permanent change there are loads of temporary hair colour solutions around.

Embrace your inner 5 year old, and prepare to find specks of it EVERYWHERE for the next month (still worth it)

Face paint

Again with the inner 5 year old, but you’re not at a birthday party, and you usually have to do it yourself.

Bright Eye and Lip Colours

Adding  extra pops of colour to your look is a subtle (or not so subtle) way of embracing festival makeup without leaving your comfort zone.

I hope this post inspired you, and if you recognise me on some dancefloor at a party, please come say hi, we’ll have a little dance party and we an be real life friends (rather than internet friends) it would be great.

Happy Jamming and Happy Glamming
