Winter is upon us, and so fashion and indeed beauty trends have evolved as to adjust to the gloomier weather. This season, I’ve experimented a bit with nail colours and moved away from black and beige (well, almost) here are the nail colours I’m wearing this winter.
The 4 brands I’ve been reaching for lately have been Rimmel, Catrice, Yardley and Sally Hansen
I went a bit crazy with the berry tones in two separate ranges. The “60 seconds” range applies really well with good opacity after just one coat and dries in a minute which is great for those eleventh-hour manicures. The “Lycra Pro” range has a professional finish and I can honestly vouch for the fact that it lasts for up to 10 days as the packaging promises.
I have many shades in the “Ultimate Nail Lacquer” range and frankly I’m always beyond surprised at the level of quality and longevity for the price. “Raspberry fields forever” is also the only bright polish on this list – because even the chilly season could use a pop of colour.
The “colour flash” range is Yardley’s answer to the quick-drying nail polish while the “Stayfast” range offers colourfast, chip resistant polishes. I’m a huge fan of the ”Stayfast” range and I’ve actually had this bottle since the beginning of 2014 – and it hasn’t dried, clumped or offered any problems.
Sally Hansen “Complete Salon Manicure” is my Holy Grail nail polish range for home manicures this winter. I chose a neutral shade and a really dark shade for the sake of variation and contrast. I’ve heard mixed reviews as to the quality of the polish but I have no complaints – just give it a good shake before applying. The drying time is excellent and the longevity is great.
