Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour

November 1, 2017
When a drugstore powerhouse like Rimmel London releases a new line of products that reflects a beauty trend that has become a beauty staple, it’s source for major excitement. Matte liquid lipsticks have changed the face of makeup, gloss has its place, that’s for sure, but the matte look has earned a place in many a beauty lover’s heart for the versatility and longevity it provides.

Overall impression: This range very quickly and rather easily earned a well deserved spot on our holy grail list. The shade range is so diverse and it offers unparalleled staying power and value. Let’s get into the specifics:

  • Packaging and Shade range: Everyone knows we’re a sucker for good packaging. The simplicity and size are both ideal and at 5.5ml per lipstick, the amount of product for the price is great. The shade range is incredible! From flirty pinks, to vampy purples and a nude for each and every skin tone, we are beyond impressed.

  • Application and Formula The applicator is not just a standard doe foot, its pointed at the edges allowing for seamless application to those tricky outer corners and allows the kind of definition that can create that ever-coveted cupid’s bow. The formula is velvet to matte with a cream-like texture and takes approximately 5 minutes to dry completely. The bright colors are more opaque and just one application is more than enough. But we’ve found that with the nude shades, it doesn’t hurt to let it dry and then add another layer for a look that pops.

  • Longevity It truly is long wearing and lives up to its claim of lasting a full 12 hours. Unlike many lipsticks with a similar finish it dries flat, and not ultra-flat, avoiding the flaky, cakey look.

  • Value For just R119.99 this range offers indisputable value for the quality. It’s affordable enough for those that are new to makeup to give it a go, but also has quality to rival it’s high end counterparts for those makeup addicts out there looking to cut down spending without compromising quality.
Below are some looks we created using shades from the range.
