Today marks the end of possibly the busiest two weeks of my life – being on house committee at my residence and having orientation week while still trying to catch up with all my friends after being separated for the three months of vac. This resulted in working everyday, going out every night and catching ‘groove flu’- twice.
Last night I had a moment to myself and I was able to reflect on everything that has happened and it made me realise how important it is to have time to yourself, just to connect with feelings and absorb what’s going on.
It’s been so busy that I even missed the state of the nation address, one of my friends asked me if I watched SONA and I was so confused, not realising that it is the abbreviation for State of The Nation Address. It really feels like I have been out of touch with the world.
Tomorrow is the first day of lectures and hopefully things will start to get a bit more normal and I can get a proper routine going including gym which has been lacking in my life.
Lastly, if anyone is feeling overwhelmed and tired I highly recommend taking time out to have some “me time”, it does the world of good.
